A group of English paediatricians has accepted the challenge to use scientific literature as an expert in solving everyday problems. Only two over nine questions gave answers able to modify their behaviours. In one query research was able to give useful elements for clinical practice.
Authors conclude that research is useful anyway as a form of training to bibliographic search and as a way to know the “gray areas” within it seems necessary to direct research.
